Moira Fearnley

Mini Bio

Moira Fearnley (she/her) is an Edmonton based emerging queer artist studying at MacEwan University.  Her practice focuses on narrative depictions of animals and nature, extracting compelling stories from the names and behaviours of creatures that catch her interest. She often pairs this with mythologies that entwine with these animals, sometimes using the repetitive nature of printmaking to highlight and mimic mythology’s recurrence as art-subject throughout history. Her work marries the stories we tell as humans and our efforts in categorizing and understanding everything in the wild world around us.
